APPLICATION:
The V4600 gas controls, together with the Honeywell pilot burner/thermocouple and room/boiler thermostats, provide all the necessary functions to safely regulate the gas flow pilot burner and main burner manifold of domestic heating boilers (freestanding and wall mounted), air furnaces and back boilers. The V4600 gas controls are intended for use with manufactured, natural and LPG gases (1st, 2nd, 3rd family of gases).
The V4600 gas regulators are approved according to existing European standards.
DESCRIPTION:
The V4600 / V8600E, T throttle controls include a pilot mechanism, throttle valve and an electrically operated on/off valve.
The pilotstat is a thermo-electric safety device that complies with European standards EN 125 and EN 126 and shuts off the gas supply to the main burner and pilot.
The electric on/off actuator is an automatic shut-off valve of class J according to EN 161 and shuts off the gas supply to the main burner.
OPERATION
The operation of the pilot's safety system is accomplished by the manipulation of a button, equipped with programming symbols that indicate lighting and shutdown.
Lighting :
Press and hold the button.
Light the pilot light.
Press and hold the button for 20 seconds after the pilot burner is lit.
Release the button.
Wait at least three minutes before making a second attempt to light the pilot burner when the pilot flame is not established.
Turn off :
In order to stop the flow of gas through the gas control, the knob must be turned clockwise until it stops. Once released, the knob will automatically turn to its ready position.
Important:
A safety interlock prevents the button from being fully depressed until the thermocouple has cooled sufficiently to de-energize the power supply, after which the button will become effective again.
When the button is pushed in during the lockout position, pilot gas flows to the pilot burner. However, when the button is released, the pilot gas will be shut off and the main gas supply will not be affected.
Wait one minute after shutdown before starting the ignition procedure.
ADJUSTMENTS AND VERIFICATION :
Attention
Adjustments should only be made by qualified personnel. If the manufacturer of the unit provides instructions for checking and/or service and maintenance, follow them carefully. If these instructions are not provided, use the procedure described below.
Cautionary note
To ensure safe closing of the valve, it is essential that the voltage on the terminals of the electric start/stop servo operator is reduced to 0 Volt.
Pressure tap :
The gas control is equipped with a pressure test port with an external diameter of 9 mm on the inlet and outlet side. When testing the pressure, loosen the screw half a turn and slide the tube over the nipple. Make sure that the screw is tightened after the test.
Adjustment of the pilot flame (see fig.1 of the data sheet)
The gas control is packaged for shipment with a maximum pilot flow. Refer to pilot manufacturer's instructions for recommended pilot flame size. If adjustment is required, turn the pilot flow adjustment screw clockwise to decrease or counterclockwise to increase the pilot flame.
Maintenance and service :
Under normal circumstances, no maintenance or service is required.
Valve screws that have been sealed must never be removed.
