General :
The Self-Cleaning Filter is suitable for all installations, both civil and industrial, where the impurities constantly present in the water could damage or clog the equipment. The water we constantly use comes from a water supply system or from a well; it contains a multitude of particles that, depending on their size, interact negatively with the installed accessories, compromising their correct operation. The Self-Cleaning Filter must be installed after the meter and before any other device, making sure that the direction of the water flow coincides with the direction of the arrow printed on the body. The fittings for the connection to the installation are internally threaded according to ISO 228/1. Two 1/4" GAS threaded ports on the body allow the connection of two control pressure gauges.
Maximum recommended pressure: 16 bar
Filter mesh : Layer 1 opening 0.4 (400 microns)
Operation, Control and Cleaning of the Filter :
During the passage of the water through the filter, thanks to the filtering cartridge placed inside it, all the impurities are blocked and settle on the bottom of the glass. By mounting two manometers on the body, we can check the state of the filter's operation, because the difference in reading between the inlet and outlet pressure is proportional to the clogging of the cartridge; the greater the difference between the two pressures, the more clogged the filter is and the more it needs to be cleaned. To clean the filter, open the ball valve located under the glass for a few seconds, thus expelling the impurities present on the bottom.
If the cartridge needs to be cleaned more carefully, if the type of installation allows it, it is necessary to backwash it (the flow of water in the opposite direction to the arrow on the body), or manually (e.g. with compressed air), removing the cartridge from the filter by removing the glass attached to the body with a clamp.
