Features :
Jointing paste for hydrocarbons, based on synthetic polymers in solution.
- Sealing of threaded connections and flat joints.
- Coating of cut joints.
- Replaces or is used in combination with paper (fibrous) gaskets
- For the watertightness of threaded connections, Gebatout 2 or Gebetanche water should be used.
- Suitable for use with all types of gaskets (metal, cork, rubber, metal-plastic, ...).
- For all special applications, please consult our laboratory.
Applications:
- Sealing paste for flat joints, threaded connections.
- It is suitable for hydrocarbons derived from petroleum (mineral oils, petroleum, fuel oil, leaded and unleaded gasoline, etc.), chlorinated solvents, diluted acids and bases.
- Coating of cut joints.
- Replaces or is used in combination with paper (fibrous) gaskets.
Instructions for use :
For threaded connections :
- Apply SPATEX to the male and female parts of the fittings.
- In the case of large clearances or if the threads are damaged or made manually, use flax yarn.
- Allow to dry for 15 minutes and assemble. Tighten firmly (about 50 N.m).
- For pressurized operation, wait about 15 minutes.
For flat joints:
- The joint surfaces must be clean, dry and not greasy.
- Avoid working on damaged, pitted or rough surfaces.
- For a metal-to-metal joint, thinly coat the two surfaces to be joined.
- For use with joints, insert the joint between the two SPATEX-coated sides.
- Wait 15 minutes to assemble.
- For pressurized operation, wait about 15 minutes.
- Cleaning of equipment
- Ketone solvent or ethyl acetate
Storage:
- Store at a temperature between -5°C and +30°C.
- At 20°C, the shelf life of the product in its original closed packaging is 18 months.
Observations:
Prolonged storage at a higher temperature results in a slight separation of the product, which does not affectits final characteristics. In this case, mix before use.
