Reference LARM18S
■ FUNCTION : - The drip edge (or bavette) accompanies the rainwater channel in the gutter profile when the tile overhang is too small. This prevents rainwater from infiltrating between the façade and the gutter profile. It also protects the eaves board.
■ IMPLEMENTATION : - Fix the drip cap to the last batten of the tiled roof, or directly to the batten if the roof is slate, using wide-headed nails and nailing the drip cap through the slotted holes. Nails should be spaced at regular intervals, no more than 0.50 m apart. The drip edge must fit into the gutter profile by at least 15 mm, depending on the model. Do not overtighten the drip edge to allow for natural expansion. - Using a cutter, cut a 10 cm length of the anti-capillary rib. The connection between two drip edges is made by a simple overlap, without gluing, taking into account prevailing winds. The profiles are secured by nailing them to the 2 oblong holes previously superimposed. - After connecting the 2 drip edge lengths, fasten with wide-headed nails (spaced at regular intervals, every 0.50 m maximum). To allow for natural expansion, avoid over-tightening the drip cap. - If a roofing membrane is installed, it should rest on the top of the drip cap (minimum 60 mm overlap). The roofing membrane is nailed or stapled to the drip cap on the last batten or eaves board.
