The CA 2096 backflow preventer is a set of two check valves separated by a chamber communicating with the atmosphere.
This chamber is closed by a shutter linked to the upstream valve.
In the event of negative pressure upstream of the device or excess pressure downstream with a leak at the second valve, the intermediate chamber is vented to atmosphere, thus separating the upstream and downstream circuits and preventing any backflow of polluted water.
Application:
The CA 2096 non controllable reduced pressure zone backflow preventer is designed for the protection of installations with intermittent risks that nevertheless require a backflow preventer: domestic heating installations of less than 70 Kw, automatic beverage dispensers, certain laboratory equipment, etc...
Installation:
A minimum clearance of 150 mm shall be provided around the wrapped volume of the device (except on the face side) and the relief valve shall not be submerged.
Installation requirements :
- the device must be mounted in a horizontal position
- the device must be easily accessible
- it should not be installed in flood-prone areas
- it must be installed in a ventilated environment (unpolluted atmosphere)
- the drain must be able to accommodate the discharge flow
- it must be protected against frost or extreme temperatures.
