45° socket outlet (female).
The Selle de Branchement PVC is a building fitting that allows you to easily connect a drain pipe to a main drain without having to cut, dismantle or completely modify the main drain.
This is made from standard (NF) PVC building pipe, cut to length and trimmed where necessary. The diameter of this tube is equivalent to that of the pipe to which it will be clipped. The elasticity of PVC allows the pipe to expand during installation, then to return to its original shape, recovering any slack to ensure a perfect fit with the support surface.
We deliberately make the body longer than the actual final requirement, which guarantees you an additional surface for positioning, holding and gluing. You can, however, cut the body to size if required.
On some saddles, the body diameter may appear visually smaller than the final diameter, but in reality this is not the case: PVC is elastic and contracts naturally during cutting or shaping. Once clipped on and in place, the PVC will return perfectly to its original diameter and fit snugly around your pipe.
Stitching :
This, too, is made from a standard PVC building pipe (NF) that we thermoform to create a female socket, enabling you to connect your spigot pipe or any male fitting (inspection plug, tee, etc.) with ease.
Once hot-positioned, the spigot is permanently welded to the body using a specially developed professional PVC adhesive that also guarantees watertightness.
When you try to position the saddle before drilling, you may find that it doesn't completely fit the main pipe. It's as if the saddle were obstructed by a bump. This is perfectly normal: in fact, Le Piquage is sometimes positioned slightly recessed in the saddle body, to encourage gravity flow. Once you've drilled your hole (preferably a little larger than the diameter of the piquage), it will penetrate the main pipe and your saddle will be perfectly in place.
Installation:
Position the saddle where you want it, and mark out the hole to be drilled on the inside of the spigot. You can also trace the edges of the saddle to help you reposition it later.
Drill the hole (a little larger than the diameter initially marked, to facilitate gravity flow). The dimensions of the saddle body give you plenty of room for manoeuvre.
Glue the inside of the saddle body with a good PVC GEL glue, then replace the saddle in its final position.
That's all there is to it!
